As part of our commitment to the Street Art that will be a key element of Swansea's Festival of Stitch we have been making lines of bunting and shoals of fish to bedeck the Helwick Lightship. I think we have so much bunting that we may be able to put the bunting around the Marina itself. The idea for the fish and bunting has come from a children's book called Fabulous Fish.
Our exhibition in Swansea Museum this year is entitled ' Telling Tales'and will be up from the 9th August until October. Our installation is going to be a gathering of fairies - hoping that they may appear to be in flight - but know this element is going to be quite difficult to achieve.
As you can imagine Telling Tales is a very broad title and as usual it will be interpreted in quite different ways by each artist, some of us are taking a very traditional route and others exploring less well known stories and tales. It will be an interesting and diverse exhibition and will be well worth viewing

This year has passed so quickly I'm sure most of us are wondering where the time has gone! It has been a very good year for the Contexart group, our display of ' Changing Lives' at Swansea Museum was very well received and it will be on show at the National Botanic Garden of Wales Llanarthne from October into early December. It will be central to their acknowledgement of the World Wars.
We will of course play a key role in the Swansea Festival of Stitch when we return to Swansea Museum with our 'Telling Tales' part of the fibre celebrations of children's literature that will cover the city.
Our very best wishes
Sandra and the Contexart team

Our open evening starts at 7 tomorrow night and all are welcome. The exhibition explores the 'Changing Lives' of people after WW1, a difficult subject very delicately explored. Well worth a visit! The exhibition is on until 10th October.
Best wishes Sandra

Our exhibition at Aberglasney starts on Friday for two weeks, there will be a wide range of work to see, perhaps not all tied into the gardens as we have stepped in to fill in a cancellation of other exhibitors.
This exhibition will be followed by our scheduled one at Swansea Museum in August entitled " Changing Lives" which is centred around the impact of war on people and places. Sure it is not going to all be 'serious' as we are going to hang out washing on our own 'Seigfreid Line', made up of our interpretations of War Posters.
It will be an interesting and varied exhibition and we look forward to seeing lots of people there.

Getting the website fully up and running, didn't realise how time consuming this would be!
